Located in Ayutthaya Province, I recommend you to use a car because it is far from the center city of Bangkok. It took 1 hour from my place (Lumphini Area) and need 2 times to pay for pay toll of around 70 Baht (both). I like this place because here we not only can enjoy the scenery and building but also the history.
For the entrance fee, it cost 100THB for foreigners. I think it is worth it because what we pay equally with what we expect. The total area of this palace is 46 Acre, so make sure you have full energy to walk around. It is open from 08.00 - 16.00 and please dress up politely. When you came here, you will get a guide paper which can help you to understand the story behind all of these buildings. all of these represented as an honor to the king and some of the memorials as a remembrance of the Royal Family.
